TUSA Consulting has been hired to assist in the development of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a statewide interoperability communication system. TUSA Consulting met for the first-time last week with the Office of Emergency Communication (OEC) and the Statewide Interoperable Communications System RFP Development Committee.

The group is meeting weekly to work on the RFP. The OEC and TUSA staff will be conducting statewide interviews in June with communication stakeholders in Wisconsin to receive their input for the development of the statewide interoperable radio network RFP.

Currently, some public safety agencies use WISCOM. The shared statewide system is used by emergency responders to communicate on a daily basis, communicate during a major disaster or large-scale incident. By state law, the RFP must be conducted by June 30, 2019.

On another issue, OEC continues working with Wisconsin Department of Administration procurement staff on the development for a Request for Information (RFI) for a statewide ESInet system. The goal is to issue the RFI in June

To learn more about the State of Wisconsin procurement process, Wisconsin Department of Administration has a procurement manual available at https://vendornet.wi.gov/GenProcurement/ProcurementManual.aspx

In addition, vendors interested in responding to an RFI or RFP are encouraged to register at https://esupplier.wi.gov to ensure they are automatically notified when the requests are released.
