The Office of Emergency Communications (OEC) is pleased to announce the release of the first funding opportunity under the new Geographic Information System (GIS) grant program for enabling NextGeneration9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) services. The Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs (DMA) is allocated $1.5 million annually for awarding grants under the GIS grant program. Grant eligibility criteria, allowable and unallowable expenses are governed by Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs agency policy.

OEC, as part of the DMA, provides program management for the implementation of the statewide emergency services IP-based network (ESInet) for NG9-1-1 services and is responsible for administering this new grant program.


Applications for this grant opportunity are due by October 25, 2022. County land information offices that meet the eligibility criteria established by DMA agency policy are eligible to apply for allowable expenses under the grant program.
