MADISON, Wis. — A Request for Proposal (RFP) has been released for consulting services (RFP #MA190787) to assist in the development of a RFP for a statewide Emergency Services IP network (ESInet). The ESInet will be a statewide network or backbone that will enable public safety answering points (PSAPs) to implement Next Generation 911 (NG9-1-1).

The selected consulting firm (contractor) will be involved with assisting the Office of Emergency Communications with the development of requirements and specifications related to the creation, operation and maintenance of the ESInet. The contractor will also be involved with grant development and application, quality assurance services for building the ESInet, as well as post-implementation assessment and recommendations.

The State of Wisconsin has also extended the deadline for the existing Request for Information (RFI) to August 14, 2018. Under the RFI (RFI #MA190786), the state is accepting responses from suppliers to identify solutions for building and managing the ESInet. The information will be used to develop specifications and requirements for building and operating the new system.
